Parks and Recreation

The New Haven City Park is funded by a City of New Haven property tax levy (25.79 cents in 2005) and is overseen by a nine-member board: Tim Otten, president; Mary VonBehren, secretary, Kyle Williams, Larry Hanks, Bill Stallmann, Jim Stiles, Melissa Venardos, Mike Faris and Joyce Smith.

Park manager Charles Luecke oversees operation of the 40-acre park, which includes Bail Park, which is available by rental only. The Municipal Swimming Pool operates from late May until early August. The park includes two baseball and softball diamonds: Lions Field and Bock Field.

Bail Park is available to rent for $125.00 per day. The pavilions in the other areas of the park are available for rent at $75.00 per day guranteed or free on a first-come, first-served basis. The ball fields are also available at $10.00 per day except for days reserved for use by New Haven High School and the New Haven Little League.

Swimming pool information is now available. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
